Why we're here

For over half a century, American culture had two coasts and a blank space between them. The broad, universal stories we grew up with became harder to find, and somewhere along the way "premium" and "popular" started to sound like opposites. As a result, the millions of people who live between the coasts became the largest underserved audience in America.

Though the Midwest is in our blood, we didn't want to assume we knew what this audience wanted to watch.

So we immersed ourselves and asked them.

Over six months of interviews, observations and dialogue across the entire region, our research showed - wait for it - that human beings in the middle are the same as anywhere else.

They're just as proud of their home, and want big, heartfelt stories about people, places and teams they recognize - but they want them told with the same care the coasts give their own. Some people see the heart of the country as the empty part. We see it as the overlooked part. We happen to know it well, and we're here to give them what they've been waiting for.

Why "Twin Pines"

Our name is a nod to Back to the Future's Twin Pines Mall that becomes the Lone Pine Mall after one small, wild act changes the course of everything.

It's a reminder that a single shift - in time, perspective, or storytelling - can reshape the narrative entirely.

The coasts wrote the first version of the middle from a distance. We came home to tell the second.

Let's light this up.
